So, life is going back to normal this week. . .
The past month my entire schedule has been thrown off because of church commitments and birthdays—Oh wait! My dad’s birthday is Friday!!!
He’s turning 47, although I feel like he should be younger than that. . .
Neither of my parents look their age, especially my mom, but I’ll go into why in a later post.
Anyway, his birthday is Friday, which means that we’ll have nachos and cake. Well, their goes the weight I’ve lost!
I’m just kidding 🙂
Now that I think about it, I’ve never told you about what “denomination” I am! Trust me, I’m apart of one of the coolest “denominations” in the world!
No, I’m not Catholic.
Or, Lutheran. (Although I did go to a Lutheran High School)
Or, just a modern Christian.
No siree! I am apart of a Hebraic Roots church. If you don’t know what that is, we basically believe that the whole Christian Bible should be followed by people of all race, gender, or ethnicity.
So, we have church on Saturday. We follow the feasts of God (Yahweh). And, we eat biblically Kosher, so no pork, catfish, shrimp, lobster, etc.
I know that most people see us as freaks or view the “Law” as a burden, but I really don’t see it that way. At least, not anymore.
You guys know that I love the idea of Kings and Queens and knights and all that jazz. I also love the idea of being able to be apart of the Hebrew nation of Israel. I dream about life back then with Joseph, Moses, David, and even Jesus (Yeshua). Maybe that’s why I connect with following the “Law,” and maybe that’s why I’m so willing to do it.
Maybe, just maybe, I enjoy being different from other Christian denominations because it means that I am more like the first set of children of God. I’m trying to please God in the way He wanted to be worshipped, obeyed, loved.
Hmmm. . . Let me put this in a more simpler way, because even I’m beginning to get confused. 🤔
So, think of your mom and dad.
If I want to make my mom happy, I’ll clean the house for her while she’s in town doing errands so that she doesn’t come home to a wrecked house. I know that is such a burden for her, so I clean to help her out.
When she tells (or asks) me to switch the laundry or load the dishes or cut potatoes, I do it immediately so that she isn’t stressed, and so that she knows I’m trying to please her by doing as she said (or asked.)
It’s the same way with God.
I go to church on Saturday because that is the seventh day of the week, and the Bible specifically says to have a Sabbath meeting on the seventh day.
I eat “clean” (Kosher), because He asked us to in the Bible. I know you might argue with the Peter’s Vision passage, but if you read right after when Peter interprets his vision for his friends, he specifically says that the vision meant that he could go to a Gentile’s home (Cornelius), which was frowned upon in Jewish culture. It had nothing to do with food!
If you disagree or just want to chat about what all I believe, comment down below or message me!
Anyway, I thought I would share my faith with you guys!
Stay tuned for my next post. . .
